Happy a good and enjoyable day at the Disney's. :)

Thanks for the fabulous Easy Flame Lace Scarf. There is nothing quite as fun as experiencing Disneyland with a young child (I'm not kidding). We went for my daughter's 4th birthday (she wanted a Princess party.....we met all the Disney Princesses instead).

San Jose

thank you.
enjoy your disney adventure with the family.
The scarf is looking beautiful..

Yeah, it's like the time I got a short pixie hair cut, was wearing a north face puff jacket and hat and went up to a friend on WMU campus and she gave me the meanest look because she thought I was a strange man hitting on her… I will never cut my hair that short again!

Thanks for the free pattern. SO generous and so cool!

P.S. That song is my husbands fav!

Hope all is well! Have fun in Mickey Land!

I have executed estates recently. It is practically a part time job. You'll need the Rev. Al and knitting to help you thru! Have a good trip.

I've not yet worked with the Malabrigo lace weight (I'm addicted to the worsted, and have a serious thing going for the chunky, too). My LYS just started carrying it. Perhaps a trip is in order...

I've decided that I will become a Knitter with a capital "K" when I have made (and, most importantly, BLOCKED) lace.

Oh, I'm an estate and probate legal secretary in Real Life. I know there's a lot of paperwork to deal with right now. Hang in there!

Miz Booshay

Al Green is magic.

Keep listening.

I hope you have a great time and you don't have to queue too much.

Being the executrix sucks. I feel for you!

Have fun at Disneyland! I am heading to a not so LYS that is for sale this weekend. DH is all for me buying it.....we'll see.

Thanks for the cool free pattern. I have been trying to knit lace for a while and always give up about half way thru. I have been reading you blog for some time and decided to finally say thanks. You are able to write and put "out there" things that I would hardly even think to myself sometimes...
Have fun at Disney.

May your lines be short, and temps cool...and I hope it is better than your last trip no matter what!

Have fun at Disneyland. I'm envious! Thanks for the pattern. I love the scarf.

After college, I lost a lot of weight. (I'm tall, so the amount of weight I lost always shocks people, since I didn't look TOO heavy to begin with.) A couple years ago I went home for my high school class's 10 year reunion, and everybody was like "Wow, you look GREAT!" At first, I took the comments as they were meant to be -- compliments. But after a while, I couldn't help but think "Geez... did I really look THAT bad in high school?!"

Have fun at Disney!

Oh, I feel for you. I've been winding up a full year of serving as co-executrix of my parents' estate. What a nightmare. It should NOT have to be this hard, on top of the grieving. I pray that you can escape the bizarre family behavioral changes that seem to occur when the word "Will" is invoked. Have fun at Disneyland!

Judith in NYC

I am totally in love with Al Green and that's one of my favorite songs.

Thank you for the pattern.

The cuteness of you in an ELMO t shirt, with the love of your scarf! OY!!

Thanks for the pattern. That's great that your acquaintance didn't recognize you and thought you look fantastic. Just say "thanks!" Sorry to hear about the executrix job - it's never fun to be named that. I can relate to wanting nothing more to knit all day and ending up doing everything but! Have fun in Disneyland!

Hmm, small child, Disneyland...good luck! :)

The scarf looks great -- thanks for sharing the pattern! I hope you have a wonderful time at Disneyland.

Oh, thank you, thank you, thank you! This will be my second attempt at lace. I was intimidated by lace forever, and then I started Cozy from Knitty, and now I'm obsessed with lace. I already ordered Lanas Puras Melosa laceweight in Desert Bloom, in anticipation of making this scarf. It's so pretty, I can't wait!

Were you wearing your big sunglasses? Maybe that threw her off.

LOVE the Elmo shirt!

Disneyland is hot and sticky, friends. But I'm in a nice hotel right now and reading your comments. Oh, and I'm having a gin and tonic, too!

As Madeleine L'Engle said, "Comparisons are odious." And it doesn't matter whether these tactless troglodytes are comparing you to other people, to your former self, to your potential future self or what. They need to stop acting like Simon Kalb or any other judge.
Friends don't judge friends.
(Dis-mounting from my high horse.)

PS: I know what Madalyn means about people acting so bizarre if you express deserved pride in losing more than five pounds!!

yay for the beautiful scarf! looks fab as you rock the elmo shirt and sunglasses. have fun with mickey & gang. i'll be taking my knitting with me and the hubby to sonoma for 3 days on friday. OTN-2nd "pricilla's dream sock" for hubby in panda wool (the short-row heel nearly killed me) and just-resurrected-from-the-UFO-pile blue sky alpaca cropped cardi in yummy RYC cashsoft DK
