Girlie's mommy Katrina knit her a Girlfriend Swing Coat out of the Blue Sky Organic Cotton.
Some people ask me why I didn't just copy this pattern for adult women.
I think, why waste such good stuff on us old gals? Girlie, there, and the rest of them who wear it, do more justice than I or most of us ever could, and to tell you the the truth: The big collar in the back can only do real harm for someone over age 17 than good unless they happen to also serve in the Junior Naval/Like-to-be-on-a-Ship Forces (just my opinion).
I don't need more bulk than what is truly called for, especially around the jowls. So let's salute the younger gals who look so good in that sort of neckline, i.e, "collar" treatment!
(But the little girls, they shine don't they? And this one is great.)
