Julia's Last-Minute "Purled" Beret
I love it and she loves it, but yes, I know, not a lot of lovin' with the beret action out there. Seems most of the hat-wearing public prefers a brim or maybe something fitted. Or something that resembles a baseball cap or one of those finger condoms the chefs wear when they cut themselves while rushing the old chopping routine on the Food Channel.
Still, the beret. Oh, the tam. And wouldn't you know, there are still a few hold outs for the tam, other than me? Julia's grandmother is getting this for a gift and I'm thinking it's just the thing. Made with waaaaayyy less than half a skein of the Lion and Lamb by Lorna's Laces, Julia says that the beret turned out great and her cool grandma (the one who was a beauty queen) will be sporting it soon.
