This is a great purse pattern from the Spring 2005 Knitty. I knit it up in about four days using five skeins total of Tahki Cotton Classic in Periwinkle and Lime. I made a few mistakes, I really did, but one that paid off was when I was at the fabric store and in a huge hurry, instead of buying the intended interfacing, I picked up some of that double-sided iron-on fusing stuff. It was a pain sewing the lining together by hand because of the stickiness of the product, but after it was all done, I ran a hot iron over the whole lot and the thing stands up on its own! Yowza Yowza Yowza.
Just so you guys know, I wanted to buy iron-on interfacing, but I bought some stuff that's a bit different by mistake. It is Therm O Web HeatnBond Iron-On Adhesive (Ultrahold). It is sticky on both sides. This way, the bag doesn't fall away from the lining too much. It doesn't work perfectly, but it works.
The Gucci's? They're there because, well, I just couldn't help myself.
