I am a perfectionist & I have OCD ... not an unusual blending ... & reading your post this morning was like a nice pat on the back with a "there, there ... it's okay" thrown in. I ... one who also possesses FF toes (& Herman Munster hands & feet) ... thank you.

When I went to a talk about rug weaving in Istanbul 10 years ago there was discussion about when rugs were made by people on their own (not given designs by the "factory" system that is rug making in Turkey) there was always a mistake (and so fun to look for it) because only g-d is perfect. I think of this often when my mistake shows up in knitting.

Socks too large? Throw them in the washer on warm. Air dry. Still too large? Re-wash and throw them in the dryer with everything else. Probably they will fit. My solution! I enjoy your blog. Thank you for doing it.

I JUST read this and thought you might like it, and can't believe I read it before reading your blog post.
"I think this...'perfectionist gene' that too many young women have holds them back, and instead they should be really aiming for 'good enough.' You don't have to be perfect. Most men never think like that. They're just trying to figure out what's the opening and how they can seize it. They're not thinking about, Oh my gosh, I'm not perfect, my hair's not perfect today, I wore the wrong shoes. No."

BAD FEET, are they from me?
Love you, Dad

I don't understand this but your frustration is obvious. Love you, Betty

They do say that the only thing worse than being a perfectionist is living with one.

Perfectionists never get that.

Great socks! What are you using?
